Okay, no but really, I’ve liked Cpop long enough to learn that Pepsi is pretty much like the holy grail of product endorsements. I don’t think I can ever really understand why hawking soda is such a big deal, but for Cpop stars, this is totally huge. Pepsi only invites the most, most popular stars to put on their fugly clothe, so to join “the Pepsi family” is a huge statement for SJM’s popularity. If my research doesn’t fail me, the other family members atm are Jolin Tsai, Show Luo, Louis Koo, Huang Xiaoming, and Lee Jun Ki. Yeah, that list should pretty much tell you how exclusive this club is.

Alkfjsldkf I can’t believe an endorsement deal is making grin from ear to ear, but if I’m not mistaken, SJM is only the second group ever to endorse Pepsi, after F4. IDK if anyone remembers back around 2003/2004 when F4 mania was sweeping through Asia, but it was like the biggest thing ever. For SJM to follow that?? They should be really proud of everything they’ve accomplished^^.

Some other SuJu related-ish things…. I’m really excited for that birds nest concert thing tomorrow. Apparently it’s SJ, not SJM that’s performing. Cool, even better! I really want to watch the whole thing since so many great Chinese singers are scheduled to perform. China wouldn’t miss a chance to broadcast such a large spectacle right? I mean, it’s in the Bird’s Nest and we all know how crazy insane us Chinese people get over anything remotely related to the Olympics T___T.

Also, fmlxinfinity. SuJu’s repackaged album is coming out smack dab in the middle of finals : (((((((( “Sorry, Sorry” promo has of course felt too short, however, I am really glad they’re promoting a new song that I’ve never heard before; that makes everything so much more exciting!! If I fail at spazzing properly for the next few weeks, you’ll have to excuse me though. But always a silver lining~~ SHINEE’S NEW MINIALBUM MAY 16!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (maybe) OMG, I only realized recently how much I’ve missed them!!! *is excited*

Do you remember visiting this site 9038458 times a day?

Here’s a rather philosophical question. Why are fans obsessed with their favorite artists winning every poll, no matter how arbitrary, no matter how insignificant? You might just laugh this off as fangirls being young and immature, but I seriously don’t think so, because I’ve encountered this phenomenon in every fandom, across every age group.

I’m not bashing, and I’m not calling these people stupid or anything, because to be honest, when my fave artists wins a poll, it makes me feel good too. While I don’t really fanatically try to recruit people, or set up 50 fake email addresses, if someone tells me “Please vote for _____, all you have to do it just click a button to vote,” sometimes I’ll do it. But why?

Most of these poll are just random, and usually there’s not even any sort of reward or prestige attached to winning. I guess it’s all a matter of pride, but how much pride is really at stake when it’s just about who has the most fans crazy enough to click a mouse button every 10 minutes?

For example, that Channel V poll from a few days back. Holeeshit that was some insanity going on everywhere. Everywhere I turned, people were like, “So and So is behind!!!!! Let’s show them the power of So and So’s fanclub and button click the shit out of this!!!” I really couldn’t help but laugh at how worked up people got over this random Taiwanese website, I mean seriously, WTH???

So my question is, why do people care so much about these things? What exactly do fans get out of some arbitrary artist winning some arbitrary poll?

Yippie! This is like the ultimate treat for my Cpop deprived self! I have no idea what this award is, but so many artists showed up, so it must be pretty legit. Alsdjflsdkj, I had the hardest time collecting performances, so if you have more links to share, or happen to know where I can watch the full show, I will give my undying love to you forevers!!

Leehom; Xin.Tiao. How long has it been since I’ve seen a Leehom performance? Too damn long!! Lol @ the technical difficulty in the begining. Leehom is so squishable when he’s like, “should we do it one more time?” Alsjdfjlkdfslk I cannot love this guy anymore than I do!!! I think it goes without saying that his singing was amazing as always^^^He always sings his songs differently each time he performs, and he’s so expressive!! ♥♥♥X1000000!!!!!!!

Jason Zhang Jie; 2008 Taiwan/HK Top Songs Medley Okay, I don’t know who Jason Zhang is, judging by the screams, he’s hella popular in China atm. Anyways, I loved this performance! He basically sings a line or two from the most popular songs of HK/Taiwan of the past year. So many of my faves on the list! Aklsadjfsld, I need to learn more about this boy! He’s cute, he can sing, what else is there to ask for????

BoBo; 2008 Mainland Top Songs Medley | If Okay, I’m only familar with BoBo by name, but I do know they are the most popular group in China right now. Purely judging by their voice/looks/way they look at one another, I’d say they’re pretty deserving XDD. Anyways, I’m sort of embarrassed that I pretty much recognized all the songs/artists from the Taiwan/HK list, but I know almost no one on this list o___O. Lol at all the Olympic propaganada music that managed to get on the list though T__T. As far as their other song, it’s pretty typical Cpop, but again, cute+nice voices = me relatively interested.

Fahrenheit; Xin Wo Kind of a side note, but I hate those stupid sponsor mics; the random plast strip is really distracting ^__^ Anyways, it’s been a long time since I’ve seen FRH perform this song. Eh, not too bad I guess.

Mayday; Ni Bu Shi Zhen Zheng De Kuai Le Ahhh, this has got to be one of my fave songs from PotDA!!! I don’t normally watch Mayday live performances, cuz to be honest, I think they sound a lot better on the CD, but I really liked this performance! I don’t really listen to that much rock music, but it’s fun watching these boys play the guitar, bass and drums!

Jam Hsiao; Wang Zi De Xin Yi Okay question: When did Jam Hsiao get hot? I remember back when he was just this super awkward kid who couldn’t say more than three words at once, but now he’s all, “look at me, I sing rock and wear tight pants” Whatever, love this Jam 2394293X more!!

S.H.E; Miss Universe The thing I love about S.H.E. the most is that they’re always so perky! They’re one of the few performers that actually have coreography, and I always feel like bopping along whenever I watch them perfrom this song!

Show Luo; Hot Shot Speaking of  coreography, here’s the supposed dance king of Asia ;___; Although I don’t love the song, I have to admit that for a Chinese guy, he’s pretty good at dancing! Lol, j/k j/k, I really do love him to bits!

Top Combine; Cotton Candy First off, I’m like really freaked out by how skinny they are o__O. I know I’m not “allowed” to say this, but wheneve I watch them, I can’t help but think, “Korean boyband ripoff.” IDK, song is exactly how you’d imagine a song called “Cotton Candy” would sound….

Oh yeah, list of winners in case you care ; ))))

Here’s the story in case you’ve been living under a rock.

You know, when SM first announced that Kibum will be missing 3rd album activities because of “acting lessons,” I wrote a rant about how that was a bullshit reason and how I wished SM could just be straight with the fans. I never posted it because it was getting to be a bit too borderline psychotic fangirl for my tastes. However, now I finally understand what SM is doing, and it is frickin’ brilliant.

So now that we’ve established that Kibum is in decent enough physical and mental health to film a CF or whatever, the list of real reasons he’s not there for comeback is rapidly dwindling. In fact at this point, I really can’t think of a single explanation for why he’s not doing SJ activities other than he doesn’t wanna.

So assuming that SM was nice enough to let him leave SJ, or more likely, his contract was up, they had to figure out a way to do it so that fans didn’t go batshit (again). What better way to do it than to make Kibum take a couple of pictures for the album, film like five seconds for the mv, and be done with it. This way, SM can continue to hype the comeback of 13 members!, and Kibum can do whatever the hell he wants. Brilliant!, it’s a win-win situation! Well, except for those pesky fans that waited a year and a half to see all 13 members of SJ make a comeback, but hey, as long as they already shelled out the $$$$, who cares?

And the most brilliant part of this plan is that by doing it this way, fans have become acclimated to seeing 12 members perform  and are now blaming Kibum for being selfish and putting his own career above Super Junior. Guess who comes out scot free with zero protesters outside it’s building?

Honestly, the part that gets me the most is that it worked. I mean, I was never super attached to the 13 thing to begin with, but I like the people in SJ now, and would be majorly sad if they started randomly adding and subtracting members. Or so I thought. Honestly, I’m pretty fine that Kibum isn’t in the group anymore. I mean, I’ve liked him since watching Full House, but it’s clear that he doesn’t want to be a singer, and comeback has more than exceeded my expectations even without him, so I can’t even complain. Personally, I like straightforwardness more than this deceptive crap, but I understand why SM did things this way. I mean, fans are passionate to say the least, and it would have legit sucked had Kibum leaving SJ overshadowed their comeback.

*Sigh* I tip my hat to LSM’s evil genius ways. Had it been him and not Cornwallis, we’d all probably still be drinking afternoon tea and all hailing the queen .

Edit: Wait I forgot to say something. Kibum even with the fug pants and fug hair, still looks hot. Like, really, really, alsdjfskdl hot.And when it come to him, that’s all I really ask for, so thank you. SJ, no SJ, stay hot and I so don’t care^^
