I know I just posted on this yesterday, but I love this song sfm I felt the need to know what he’s singing. My first time translating lyrics so if you see any mistakes, please let me know :)

Translated lyrics*

Us Two

You’re on the left, I try to stay right.
For that first photo,
too timid to get close.
It belonged to us two;
faces too innocent,
like apples with the same bashful sweetness.

Too many feelings,
yet no longer the same.
The world has changed,
or maybe just me.
In the album wedged between books,
the dislodged photo made me silent.

Too long, too long, perhaps it has been too long.
Forgotten, Forgotten, how it began.
While singing drunk beside the creek,
I said before I’ll always love you.

No more, no more, no longer can anyone possess this.
Miss you, miss me, tears and smiles are all understood.
To touch again–
I’ve hidden the thought in my heart for so long,
in that softest corner.

*take w/ grain of salt

New Cpop! I know a lot of you guys who read my blog aren’t Cpop fans, but if you like mellow music with a slight r&b twinge, I highly, highly recommend you check this out. If I were to rank this album on a scale of one to ten, I would give it a 983468794587; most definitely the best Chinese album I’ve heard all year, and my favorite as well.

My favorite track “Us Two”:

Like usual, I don’t know much about the guy other then he’s 24 and from China. Four years ago, he released his first self titled album to very little commercial success. Now, he’s come back with a new, self composed album as well as a new image. Just for comparison sake, this is what he used to look like, and this is he sounded like. Needless to say, he had some issues with his record label and ultimately got more creative control this time around.

I realized I always tl;dr so I’m going to try to keep this short. My favorite thing about the album is that it sounds Chinese. Sounds obvious, but too many Chinese artists are a little lost in this respect. Many of the songs are on the slow side, but most aren’t like super ballady or anything. I’d say the album sounds like 90% pop, 10% indie. Favorite tracks are 我们俩 (my absolute favorite), 小希望 and 朵朵, but all the songs are great.

A few more pictures cuz I think he’s a cutie :)

How long has it been since I’ve made a Leehom post? Wtf right?

Admittedly, I’ve never heard the original, but I’m totally lovin’ the cover (duh). Something about his voice,  idek. Ngl, it’s really nice to just hear something new from him.

Okay, so I found out his concert DVD is coming out next week, and omg, where are my monies??? What to do? what to do???

Ahhhh I want to listen to David Tao’s new album so bad, but it’s leaked and apparently some people (including him) think that’s like morally deprived or something. als;djflskjdfskj what should I do??????? fml fml

I saw this on one of the Cpop livejournal communities and decided to give it a try. I don’t know how good it is from a ~snobby~ musical elist’s perspective, but I love it. It’s been a while since I’ve recced some Chinese indie, but this is good stuff!

So their Chinese name is 摩卡乐队 which directly translates to “Moka Band” Okay, whatever.

All right, they sound like a British indie pop band, and if there were indeed a British indie pop band, I probably definitely would not give a shiz about them. However, I like how Chinese+mello!emo sound together so yes, double standards apply much. I have no idea if Tong Ming (Trans: Same Name) is their only EP, but give it a try if you like Chinese indie :)

Blah blah blah no English info blah blah blah just listen EP download

A very long interview that I did not watch Judging by their accents, I’d say they’re from the Beijingish area.
