Alkdsflksdj finally done with physics homework of death…. Now it’s time to relax those brain cells with a little Kpop fluff.
I realized that I did the SM version, promised I listen to more Kpop then that, then proceeded to forget about the whole thing. This post is pretty much solely to prove that I listen to non SM Korean music. *Ahem* You can use your own discretion to decide how truthful I’m being….
Normally I wouldn’t post about news like this, but this is just so heartbreaking. Kpop stars overexerting themselves is nothing new, but that doesn’t make it anymore okay. The worst part is that they found her passed out alone in her house. I’m not usually one to be all, “Oh poor little famous pop star,” but I’m seriously sadface at this : (.
I actually read about her before I watched any of her shows, or listened to any of her music. I mean, I saw a picture, and my snap judgement was whorish, prima donna type. Wow, that was way off base. Her music is okay, and she’s a decent singer, but what attracts me most to her is how she doesn’t take herself too seriously, which is sort of a rare find among female divas. Either she’s a really, really great actress, or she really is a fun girl with a great personality. I’m going to choose to believe in the latter, because I still have some faith in humanity to produce decent, genuine people.
Check out the much hyped Rain/Hyori tango above. They were suppose to revive their partnership at the year end award shows, but that may not be happening anymore//. I hope she rests well and takes care of herself. Kpop, no Korean entertainment in general wouldn’t be the same without her^^.
Congratulations to all the winners! When I went on soompi to check out who’d won, I found the MKMF thread closed due to fighting. Ah, soompi, you never let me down in the crazy, immature department ♥. Anyways, I’ve been watching the performances and all of them were really impressive. It seemed like everyone was having a blast! Performances under the cut!
Big Bang releases way to much stuff, way too fast. Since the summer, they’re released four albums/minialbums already! I still haven’t listened to their new album yet but I don’t get the sense that I’m missing too much since the majority of the songs are either straight from their previous mini-albums or remakes in different languages : S. Whatever, this mv is as close as BB has gotten to bubblegum pop, and it’s like 203948230X better then that Number 1. Actually, I’m completely in love with this mv^^. The song is nothing special (just usual BB) but it’s so happy and smilely and the boys actually act like boys and not wannabe gansta thugs. It’s a totally transparent move, but I’ve loved artists using their fans in MV’s ever since BSB’s “I want it that way” days XDDDD. Lemme just take a moment and shout out to my boy, Daesung, for being so frickin’ adorable in this. GIVE HIM MORE AIR TIME PRODUCERS!!!!!! I loved the beginning when he pushes TOP out of the way and when he’s chasing the bus and when he smiles and basically every damn moment he shows up ♥♥. Seriously, Big Bang is at their best when they’re not trying too hard to be edgy or mature or whatever. They were just having fun here and I was right there with them ♥.

From giggly happy lulz, to angsty, somber angst. Yeah, so *spoiler alert* what is up with Korea and their obsession with sucide? That’s seriously not good mental health there : //. Seriously, why is it used so much in the entertainment biz? What makes it worse, is that most of the time, like here for instance, it’s dealt with so fucking bad. I didn’t like Wheesung’s comeback on Music Core, and this mv did nothing to change my mind. The only redeming thing about it is Hyori, who looks so frickin good that it puts everyone around her to shame. Honestly, I know the storyline is about epic love that can’t be or whatever, but in any reality, Hyori is way, way, way too good for Wheesung. Truefax of life.
When I listen to American songs, I never really care that much about vocals. I mean, most bands have a lead vocalist who does like 95% of the singing, and then the sub vocalist who might gets the leftovers. People may scorn boybands and call them talentless hacks (they’re not totally wrong; see Fahrenheit) but it’s actually pretty hard to get four or five or 13 voices to harmonize together for a four minute song. I’ll just go through my itunes and talk about as many people as I can mentally handle and then I’ll go take a nap or something.
